The key facet of Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park are the ancient Indian ruins from a ceremonial site; the 2000-year old mounds and walls join natural features of the landscape form a 1-1/4 mile-long perimeter. A museum near the ruins helps explain the significance of this site as well as describing the culture that occupied the area and created these structures. Outdoor activities at the park include fishing along the Duck River, camping and hiking around the old ruins. It can be found just west of Manchester, two miles from the 9-hole Old Stone Fort Golf Course.
Park open year round 8:00 a.m. - sunset. Museum open 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Free.
